Flatt - Energy Upgrades Impact Assessment

The purpose of this study is to identify the implications and assess the impact that different energy

upgrades could potentially make to the existing Houses and Apartments within the Mallard Place

development.

The upgrades considered fall into two categories:

a) Thermal upgrades to the building fabric

b) Upgrades / changes in heating or hot water installations

It should be noted that the development is in a conservation area, with various covenants, that includes

‘alteration to the external appearance of the properties is not permitted’. Consequently, the installation

of solar thermal or photovoltaic panels on the roof’s are advised as being ‘not permitted’ and hence

not considered in this study.
